Let's Build: A Consultancy Website - Part 11

In part 11, I design a completely new homepage concept showing you each step of the way in a time-lapse fashion.

Having completed our first round home page design in Part 10, I decided it would be best to show our client options.

Options are good, Too many options are bad

Everyone likes options. Your client especially will like options but be extra careful not to give them too many choices. Actually limiting the number of directions you can go is a great guideline for proper art direction through the lifecycle of any project.

I typically create no more than three concepts on any design. This is even true for logo design, print, and illustrations. Setting your own guidelines allows you to be a bit more control while also delivering your best work. Not having to create 10 concepts, for instance, would yield higher quality results.

What's after the home page?

After finalizing a homepage concept, I'll be moving on to interior pages for the chosen option. Off-screen, I'll be meeting with our client Alyssa to discuss both options and where we could ultimately take the final design. Find out which option we choose in the next few parts of the series!
